Glock 19 with Austrian proof marks

Sun Mar 22 2009
We had the chance to photograph this Glock 19 made in Austria with Austrian proof mark and inspectors marks, the eagle and the shield with the numeral 2 in the center and NPv that are required on Austrian pistols. This is different than the Glock logo stamped on Glock pistols made in the US. The eagle is the Austrian coat of arms and is used as a proof mark the number 2 in the center means that it was proofed in Vienna. NPv mark means Nitro Powder proofed. European style proof markings on barrel, frame and slide indicate it was also assembled in Austria. The Glock 19 frame reads Made in Austria, GLOCK Ges.m.b.H. This Glock 19 import mark is under the trigger guard and reads Glock, Inc., Smyrna, GA. This is an interesting example of an rare and unique Glock 19 variation

Three Glock 19 variations that can be seen under the trigger guards. One is the one with Austrian proof marks, the other is a standard Glock 19 and the top one has a smooth square patch under the trigger guard (this one also has a unique front sight, see photo above)
